Bittrex Review: One of the First Crypto Exchanges| Final Part

4. Transaction Fees

Transferring funds across the blockchain and withdrawing them from Bittrex costs a fee for customers, with the rate unique for every coin.
Bittrex Global charges no commission for deposits. Please keep in mind that some tokens or cash may be required to perform a transaction by a crypto coin or token’s community. Bittrex crypto exchange can’t keep away from it.
Every token or coin has a blockchain transaction fee that is built in it, and the Bittrex fee is a small amount to cover this charge. You can view the fee percentage for every coin or token by clicking Withdrawal near to the coin. There you will see a transaction fee you will be charged for withdrawing a specific coin or token.
In the example below, the withdrawal fee amounts to 1 USDT

Trading expenses are incurred when an order is prepared by means of the Bittrex worldwide matching engine. While an order is being executed, the purchaser and the vendor are charged a rate primarily based on the order’s amount. The fee charged by Bittrex exchange is calculated by the formula amount * buy rate * fee. There aren't any charges for placing an order which is not being executed so far. Any portion of an unfinished order will be refunded completely upon order cancelation.
Prices vary depending on the currency pair, monthly trade volume, and whether the order is a maker or taker. Bittrex reserves the right to alternate fee quotes at any time, including offering various discounts and incentive packages.

Monthly Volume

Your buying and selling volume affects the fee you pay for every order. Our expenses are built to encourage customers who ensure liquidity in the Bittrex crypto exchange markets. Your buying and selling charges are reduced according to your trade volume for the last 30 years in dollars.
Bittrex calculates the 30-day value every day, updating every account's volume calculation and buying and selling charge between of 12:30 AM UTC and 01:30 AM UTC every day.
You can check your monthly trade volume by logging in and opening Account > My Activity.

6. Withdrawing Funds

Withdrawing any type of funds is likewise simple. You can profit by buying and selling Bitcoin, Ether, or any other cryptocurrency.
You determine the crypto address—to which the amount will be credited—and the transaction amount. The withdrawal fee will be automatically calculated and shown right away.
After confirming the transaction, the finances will be sent to the specified addresses and all that you need to do is to wait for the community to confirm the transaction.
If the 2FA is enabled, then the user receives a special code (via SMS or application) to confirm the withdrawal.

7. How to Trade on Bittrex Global

Currency selling and buying transactions are performed using the Sell and Buy buttons, accordingly.
To begin with, the dealer selects a currency pair and sees a graph of the rate dynamics and different values for the pair.
Below the chart, there is a section with orders where the user can buy or sell a virtual asset.
To create an order, you just need to specify the order type, price, and quantity. And do not forget about the 0.25% trade fee whatever the quantity.
For optimum profit, stay with liquid assets as they can be quickly sold at a near-market rate effective at the time of the transaction. Bittrex offers no referral program; so buying and selling crypto is the easiest way to earn.

Order Types

Bittrex helps you alternate Limit and Stop-Limit orders.
A limit order or a simple limit order is performed when the asset fee reaches—or even exceeds—the price the trader seeks. To execute such an order, it is required that there's a counter market order on the platform that has the identical fee as the limit order.

Differences between Limit Order and Stop Limit Order

A stop limit order is a mixture of a stop limit order and a limit order. In such an application, charges are indicated—a stop charge and the limit.

Stop Limit Order Purpose

Trade Terminal

Let’s discuss how you could trade conveniently with our service.
The key features include a user-friendly interface and precise currency pair statistics (timeframe graphs, network data, trade volumes, and so forth).
The platform’s top-notch advantage is handy, easy-to-analyze, customizable charts. There is also a column for quick switching between currency pairs and an order panel beneath the fee chart. Such an all-encompassing visual solution helps compare orders efficiently and in one place.
You can use the terminal in a day or night mode; when in the night mode, the icon in the upper-right corner changes and notice the Bittrex trading terminal in night mode is displayed. The main menu consists of 4 sections: Markets, Orders, Wallets, Settings.
Markets are the trade section. Bittrex allows handling over 270 currency pairs.
Orders. To see all open orders, go to OrdersOpen.
To see completed orders, go to OrdersCompleted.
Wallets. The Wallets tab displays many wallets for all cryptocurrencies supported by the exchange and the current balance of each of them.
After refilling the balance or creating a buy or sale order, you will see all actions in the section. Bittrex allows creating a separate wallet for every coin. Additionally, you can see how the coin price has changed, in terms of percentage, throughout the day.
Here’s what you can also do with your wallets:
  • Hide zero balances: hide currencies with zero balance
  • Green and red arrows: replenish balance/withdraw funds
  • Find: search for a cryptocurrency
The Settings section helps manage your account, verification, 2FA, password modification, API connection, and many more.

How to Sell

The process of selling crypto assets follows the same algorithm. The only difference is that after choosing the exchange direction, you need to initiate a Sell order. All the rest is similar: you select the order type, specify the quantity and price, and click Sell *Currency Name* (Sell Bitcoin in our case).
If you scroll the screen, the entire history of trades and orders will be displayed below.

LONG and SHORT

You can make a long deal or a short deal. Your choice depends on whether you expect an asset to fall or rise in price.
Long positions are a classic trading method. It concerns purchasing an asset to profit when its value increases. Long positions are carried out through any brokers and do not require a margin account. In this case, the trader’s account must have enough funds to cover the transaction.
Losses in a long position are considered to be limited; no matter when the trade starts, the price will not fall below zero with all possible errors. Short positions, in contrast, are used to profit from a falling market. A trader buys a financial instrument from a broker and sells it. After the price reaches the target level, the trader buys back the assets or buys them to pay off the initial debt to the broker.
A short position yields profit if the price falls, and it is considered unprofitable the price matches the asset value. Performing a short order requires a margin account as a trader borrows valuable assets from a broker to complete a transaction. Long transactions help gain from market growth; short from a market decline.

Trade via API

Bittrex also supports algorithmic trading through extensive APIs (application programming interface), which allows you to automate the trading process using third-party services.
To create an API key, the user must enable the two-factor authentication 2FA, verify their account, and log in to the site within 3 minutes.
If all the requirements of the system are fulfilled, you can proceed to generate the API key. Log in to your Bittrex account, click Settings. Find API Keys. Click Add new key (Create a new key).
Toggle on / off settings for READ INFO, TRADE, or WITHDRAW, depending on what functionality you want to use for our API key.
Click Save and enter the 2FA code from the authenticator → Confirm.
The secret key will be displayed only once and will disappear after the page is refreshed. Make sure you saved it!
To delete an API key, click X in the right corner for the key that you want to delete, then click Save, enter the 2FA code from the authenticator and click Confirm.

Bittrex Bot, a Trader’s Assistant

Robotized programs that appeared sometimes after the appearance of cryptocurrency exchanges save users from monotonous work and allow automating the trading process.
Bots for trading digital money work like all the other bots: they perform mechanical trading according to the preset parameters.
Currently, one of Bittrex’s most popular trading bots is Bittrex Flash Crash Buyer Bot that helps traders profit from altcoin volatility without missing the right moment.
The program monitors all the market changes in the market every second; also, it even can place an order in advance. The Bittrex bot can handle a stop loss—to sell a certain amount of currency when the rate changes in a favorable direction and reaches a certain level.

8. Secure Platform

Bittrex Global employs the most reliable and effective security technologies available. There are many cases of theft, fraud. It is no coincidence that the currency is compared to the Wild West, especially if we compare the 1800s when cowboys rushed to the West Coast of America to earn and start something new in a place that had no rules.
Cryptocurrency is still wild. One can earn and lose money fast. But Bittrex has a substantial security policy thanks to the team’s huge experience in security and development for companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Qualys, and Blackberry.
The system employs an elastic, multi-stage holding strategy to ensure that the majority of funds are kept in cold storage for extra safety.
Bittrex Global also enables the two-factor authentication for all users and provides a host of additional security features to provide multiple layers of protection.

How to Pass IP Verification

To ensure higher security of your Bittrex Global account, the system requires all users to approve each new IP address through an email confirmation. This IP verification procedure is required every time you attempt to log in from a new IP Address.
Confirming your IP address.
https://preview.redd.it/rnl730z75zh51.jpg?width=971&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd13fba0a844ab01cadc40003f5ea5de7439cbf9
The new IP address must be confirmed from the device that you are using to access Bittrex Global. This means that you must follow the CLICK HERE TO LOGIN link in an email on the device that you want to use to access your account.
https://preview.redd.it/tq9eje795zh51.jpg?width=607&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=160b2ebfd1b9e0a287d4d2b99017dd45518ef2f7
To ensure even more security, Bittrex Global supports whitelisting of IP addresses and Crypto addresses. These two features can help protect the account in the event of credentials or API key loss.

How to Add IP Address to Whitelist

By setting one or more whitelisted addresses, you are telling Bittrex Global to only authorize trades or withdrawals from those IPs. This concerns both the global.bittrex.com web interface and API-based trades or withdrawals. To do this, click IP Whitelist in Site Settings.
https://preview.redd.it/m2klahja5zh51.jpg?width=971&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7cfb941ecb5284973baed1a2b0301459e36a0ab6

How to Add Crypto Address to Whitelist

By setting a withdrawal address, you are telling Bittrex Global to authorize withdrawals only to that address.
This concerns both the global.bittrex.com web interface and API based withdrawals.
Note that when opting into this feature, you need to specify a withdrawal address would like to withdraw funds from for every currency. To do this, click Withdrawal Whitelist in the Site Settings section. The example below shows a BTC address.

Update TKEYSPACE 1.3.0 on Android

https://preview.redd.it/6w93e0afttx41.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=c00989612ec2d52eb522405e6b6a98bf875e08bb
Version 1.3.0 is a powerful update to TkeySpace that our team has been carefully preparing. since version 1.2.0, we have been laying the foundation for implementing new features that are already available in the current version.
Who cares about the security and privacy of their assets is an update for you.
TkeySpace — was designed to give You full control over your digital assets while maintaining an exceptional level of security, which is why there is no personal data in the wallet: phone number, the email address that could be compromised by hackers — no identity checks and other hassles, just securely save the backup phrase consisting of 12 words.

Briefly about the TkeySpace 1.3.0 update :

  • Code optimization and switching to AndroidX;
  • New section-Privacy;
  • Built-in TOR;
  • Selecting the privacy mode;
  • Selecting the recovery method for each currency;
  • Choosing the address format for Litecoin;
  • Enhanced validation of transactions and blocks in the network;
  • Disk space optimization;
  • Accelerated syncing;
  • Checking “double spending”;
  • The bloom filter to check for nodes;
  • Updating the Binance and Ethereum libraries;
  • A function to hide the balance;
  • Advanced currency charts;
  • Access to charts without authentication;
  • News section;
  • Browser for Tkeycoin;
  • Independent Commission entry for Bitcoin;
  • New digital currencies;
  • Digital currency exchange tab.

Code optimization and switching to AndroidX

A lot of work has been done on optimizing the code to speed up the application, improving the logic, synchronization speed, calculating the hash of cryptocurrencies, and successfully switching to AndroidX.

https://preview.redd.it/h3go5tzgttx41.png?width=1100&format=png&auto=webp&s=bf311efc73e3577c80f06a21d6b9317bb93ae989

New section: Privacy

  • Enable Tor;
  • Blockchain transaction (the selection of the privacy mode);
  • Blockchain recovery (choosing a recovery method);
https://preview.redd.it/iydfwuhittx41.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=2ce7c489d893a2ab6b9d6fede57d8b94404edcfb

TOR

Starting with the current update, the TkeySpace wallet can communicate via the TOR network, includes new privacy algorithms, and supports 59 different currencies.

https://i.redd.it/kn5waeskttx41.gif
Tor is a powerful privacy feature for those who own large assets or live in places where the Internet is heavily censored.
Tor technology provides protection against traffic analysis mechanisms that compromise not only Internet privacy, but also the confidentiality of trade secrets, business contacts, and communications in General.
When you enable TOR settings, all outgoing traffic from the wallet will be encrypted and routed through an anonymous network of servers, periodically forming a chain through the Tor network, which uses multi-level encryption, effectively hiding any information about the sender: location, IP address, and other data.
This means that if your provider blocks the connection, you can rest easy — after all, by running this function, you will get an encrypted connection to the network without restrictions.

https://preview.redd.it/w9y3ax4mttx41.png?width=960&format=png&auto=webp&s=972e375fc26d479e8b8d2999f7659ec332e2af55
In TOR mode, the wallet may work noticeably slower and in some cases, there may be problems with the network, due to encryption, some blockchain browsers may temporarily not work. However, TOR encryption is very important when Internet providers completely block traffic and switching to this mode, you get complete freedom and no blocks for transactions.

Confidentiality of transactions (the Blockchain transaction)

The wallet can change the model of a standard transaction, mixing inputs and outputs, making it difficult to identify certain cryptocurrencies. In the current update, you can select one of several modes for the transaction privacy level: deterministic lexicographic sorting or shuffle mode.

Mode: Lexicographic indexing

Implemented deterministic lexicographic sorting using hashes of previous transactions and output indexes for sorting transaction input data, as well as values and scriptPubKeys for sorting transaction output data;
We understand that information must remain confidential not only in the interests of consumers but also in higher orders, financial systems must be kept secret to prevent fraud. One way to address these privacy shortcomings is to randomize the order of inputs and outputs.
Lexicographic ordering is a comparison algorithm used to sort two sets based on their Cartesian order within their common superset. Lexicographic order is also often referred to as alphabetical order or dictionary order. The hashes of previous transactions (in reverse byte order) are sorted in ascending order, lexicographically.
In the case of two matching transaction hashes, the corresponding previous output indexes will be compared by their integer value in ascending order. If the previous output indexes match, the input data is considered equal.

Shuffle Mode: mixing (random indexing)

To learn more about how “shuffle mode” works, we will first analyze the mechanisms using the example of a classic transaction. Current balance Of your wallet: 100 TKEY, coins are stored at different addresses:
x1. Address-contains 10 TKEY. x2. Address-contains 20 TKEY. x3. Address-contains 30 TKEY. x4. Address-contains 15 TKEY. x5. Address-contains 25 TKEY.
Addresses in the blockchain are identifiers that you use to send cryptocurrency to another person or to receive digital currency.
In a classic transaction, if you need to send, for example, 19 TKEY — 100 TKEY will be sent to the network for “melting” coins, 19 TKEY will be sent to the Recipient, and ~80.9 TKEY will return to the newly generated address for “change” in your wallet.

https://preview.redd.it/x595qwdottx41.png?width=806&format=png&auto=webp&s=d9c2ae5620a3410ed83f7e16c018165c8ab35844
In the blockchain explorer, you will see the transaction amount in the amount of 100 TKEY, where 80.99999679 TKEY is your change, 19 TKEY is the amount you sent and 0.00000321 is the transaction fee. Thus, in the blockchain search engine, most of your balance is shown in the transaction.

How does the shuffle mode work?

Let’s look at a similar example: you have 100 TKEY on your balance, and you need to send 19 TKEY.
x1. Address-contains 10 TKEY. x2. Address-contains 20 TKEY. x3. Address-contains 30 TKEY. x4. Address-contains 15 TKEY. x5. Address-contains 25 TKEY.
You send 19 TKEY, the system analyzes all your addresses and balances on them and selects the most suitable ones for the transaction. To send 19 TKEY, the miners will be given coins with x2. Addresses, for a total of 20 TKEY. Of these, 19 TKEY will be sent to the recipient, and 0.99999679 TKEY will be returned to Your new address as change minus the transaction fee.

https://preview.redd.it/doxmqffqttx41.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=5c99ec41363fe50cd651dc0acab05e175416006a
In the blockchain explorer, you will see the transaction amount in the amount of 20 TKEY, where 0.99999679 TKEY is Your change, 19 TKEY is the amount you sent and 0.00000321 is the transaction fee.
The shuffle mode has a cumulative effect. with each new transaction, delivery Addresses will be created and the selection of debit addresses/s that are most suitable for the transaction will change. Thus, if you store 1,000,000 TKEY in your wallet and want to send 1 TKEY to the recipient, the transaction amount will not display most of your balance but will select 1 or more addresses for the transaction.

Selecting the recovery method for each digital currency (Blockchain restore)

Now you can choose the recovery method for each currency: API + Blockchain or blockchain.
Note: This is not a syncing process, but rather the choice of a recovery method for your wallet. Syncing takes place with the blockchain — regardless of the method you choose.
https://preview.redd.it/gxsssuxrttx41.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=cd9fe383618dda0e990e86485652ff95652a8481

What are the differences between recovery methods?

API + Blockchain

In order not to load the entire history of the blockchain, i.e. block and transaction headers, the API helps you quickly get point information about previous transactions. For example, If your transactions are located in block 67325 and block 71775, the API will indicate to the node the necessary points for restoring Your balance, which will speed up the “recovery” process.
As soon as the information is received, communication with the peers takes place and synchronization begins from the control point, then from this moment, all subsequent block loading is carried out through the blockchain. This method allows you to quickly restore Your existing wallet.
‘’+’’ Speed.
‘’-’’ The API server may fail.

Blockchain

This method loads all block headers (block headers + Merkle) starting from the BIP44 checkpoint and manually validates transactions.
‘’+’’ It always works and is decentralized. ‘’-’’ Loading the entire blockchain may take a long time.

Why do I need to switch the recovery method?

If when creating a wallet or restoring it, a notification (!) lights up in red near the selected cryptocurrency, then most likely the API has failed, so go to SettingsSecurity CenterPrivacyBlockchain Restore — switch to Blockchain. Syncing will be successful.

Selecting the address format

You can choose the address format not only for Bitcoin but also for Litecoin. Legacy, SegWit, Native SegWit. Go to SettingsManage WalletsAddress Format.

https://preview.redd.it/nqj0nwutttx41.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=fc04b8ee8339ab27d3203ff551013cda7aa9e8db

Working at the code level

Enhanced validation of transactions and blocks in the network

Due to the increased complexity in the Tkeycoin network, we have implemented enhanced validation of the tkeycoin consensus algorithm, and this algorithm is also available for other cryptocurrencies.

What is the advantage of the enhanced validation algorithm for the user

First, the name itself speaks for itself — it increases the security of the network, and second, by implementing the function — we have accelerated the work of the TkeySpace blockchain node, the application consumes even fewer resources than before.
High complexity is converted to 3 bytes, which ensures fast code processing and the least resource consumption on your device.

Synchronization

The synchronization process has been upgraded. Node addresses are added to the local storage, and instant synchronization with nodes occurs when you log in again.

Checking for double-spending

TkeySpace eliminates “double-spending” in blockchains, which is very valuable in the Bitcoin and Litecoin networks.
For example, using another application, you may be sent a fake transaction, and the funds will eventually disappear from the network and your wallet because this feature is almost absent in most applications.
Using TkeySpace — you are 100% sure that your funds are safe and protected from fraudulent transactions in the form of “fake” transactions.

The bloom filter to check for nodes

All nodes are checked through the bloom filter. This allows you to exclude fraudulent nodes that try to connect to the network as real nodes of a particular blockchain.
In practice, this verification is not available in applications, Tkeycoin — decided to follow a new trend and change the stereotypes, so new features such as node verification using the bloom filter and double-spending verification are a kind of innovation in applications that work with cryptocurrencies.

Updating the Binance and Ethereum libraries

Updated Binance and Ethereum libraries for interaction with the TOR network.

Interface

Function — to hide the balance

This function allows you to hide the entire balance from the main screen.

Advanced currency charts and charts without authentication

Detailed market statistics are available, including volumes, both for 1 day and several years. Select the period of interest: 1 day, 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years.
In version 1.3.0, you can access charts without authentication. You can monitor the cryptocurrency exchange rate without even logging in to the app. If you have a pin code for logging in, when you open the app, swipe to the left and you will see a list of currencies.

https://preview.redd.it/f3thqv1wttx41.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=1906307f7ad1fd6db47bf270ce7c57185267b1a3

Blockchain Explorer for Tkeycoin

Transaction verification for Tkeycoin is now available directly in the app.

Independent Commission entry for Bitcoin

Taking into account the large volume of the Bitcoin network, we have implemented independent Commission entry — you can specify any Commission amount.
For other currencies, smart Commission calculation is enabled based on data from the network. The network independently regulates the most profitable Commission for the sender.

This exchange is one of the top 50 cryptocurrency exchanges by trade volume. On the Coingecko chart of exchanges, Huobi Global occupies the third position. The exchange has more than 500 markets and supports over 220 cryptocurrencies. As Huobi provides an option to buy cryptocurrency with fiat money, this exchange is a gateway for people who enter the cryptocurrency world .

FEATURES :
Huobi Global has a really wide range of functions. First off, this exchange provides an opportunity to buy cryptocurrencies with fiat money using a credit card and other payment means. This option is delivered in the over-the-counter trading section (OTC). There is a menu line in the upper part of the website. It begins with "But Crypto". That's where one can see the OTC offerings provided by Huobi. One can buy or sell the following currencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Tether (USDT), EOS, XRP, Litecoin (LTC), Huobi Token (HT), Huobi stablecoin (HUSD), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Please note, that there are not so many offerings especially for certain currencies. Normally there are many options for buying BTC or USDT. The prices and payment methods vary from one trader to another. You can pay with a credit card, some traders accept payments via Western Union, AliPay, and other services.
There is a cryptocurrency exchange with hundreds of crypto-to-crypto pairs. The exchange supports market, limit and stop-limit orders. It gives traders some control over the situation and helps to secure the assets from trading in loss to some extent. In general, the exchange interface of Huobi is quite generic.
Those who have experience of trading on several other exchanges will find the interface familiar. It has a trading view with a candlestick chart on the left and the list of orders updating in real-time on the right. Under the charts, there is an order history. Under the list of market trades, there is a section where users can place orders. The candlestick chart is powered with numerous analysis tools and indicators.
What makes Huobi Global more attractive for traders is the support of margin trading. In all margin trading pairs the currencies are traded against Tether (USDT). There are 6 cryptocurrencies that can be traded with x3 leverage: Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), XRP, Ether (ETH), and EOS.
Huobi Global is aimed to provide service both to small investors and institutional traders. That's the reason why the platform offers institutional accounts with special opportunities for corporate customers. Among these features, there are colocation options and other tools that provide the opportunity of seamless high-frequency trading. Additionally, institutional accounts can get special OTC loans.
One more feature is trading derivatives. Huobi provides two separate interfaces for that purpose: Swap trading and Futures trading platforms on Huobi DM. Moreover, it is possible to participate in IEO trading via the Huobi exchange. This feature requires the use of the Huobi Token.

ASSETS AND INSTRUMENTS:
As mentioned, there are two types of instruments that you can trade on the Huobi derivatives platform. These are your traditional futures as well as the perpetual swaps or futures.
With these instruments, you are trading crypto on margin. This means that they are leveraged and your exposure is often many multiples of the amount that you have put down as collateral.
Now that we have a brief understanding of leverage, let’s take a look at the instruments on offer at the Huobi exchange.
Futures are instruments that allow the holder to buy or sell some asset in the future. Essentially, you are trading some future price of the instrument on the chose delivery date. In terms of expiry dates, they have weekly, bi-weekly and Quarterly which settle every Friday. In terms of expiry dates, they have weekly, bi-weekly and Quarterly which settle every Friday. When it comes to the specifics of the contract, they differ according to which asset is being traded. You should also take a look into the contract specifics in the Huobi docs. This includes such information as the index reference for the prices as well as your last trading price. The latter can only be done up till 10 minutes before the expiry.
Perpetual swaps are leveraged instruments that do not have have a delivery date. They are marked to market everyday and settle 3 times a day. They are sometimes also called “perpetual futures” at other exchanges.
The reason that they are called “Swaps” at Huobi Derivatives is because you are swapping the returns of one asset for the returns of another. Here, you are swapping crypto returns for returns on the US dollar.
At Huobi DM, the Perpetual swaps have leverage up to 125x and they are written on 5 different assets. These are Bitcoin and Ethereum with other coins to be added soon.

HUOBI APPS:
Huobi mobile app for iOS and Android are available. Similarly, the Huobi mobile app features most of the functionalities available on the web platform also. You can even complete tasks like account registration and verification directly via the app. In Google Play, the Huobi Global app has an average rating of 4.1 stars out of 3,730 reviews. However, in December 2018 and January 2019, some users have said that the Android app won’t let them login due to an error with Captcha. On the Apple App Store, Huobi boasts an average rating of 4.9 stars out of over 4,800 reviews.

API :
For those of you who are programmers, you will be happy to learn that Huobi global API can be used on the Futures and Swap markets.
There is both a websocket as well as a REST version available. It is suggested that you use the REST for one off operation to trade and withdraw. You should use the websocket for market data & order updates. You should also note that you can be a market maker on through the API.
If you want to start using the API then you will to get yourself an API key. This can easily be done in the API management of your account dashboard. Here you can select whether you would like it to be a read-only, Withdraw or Trade. You can also bind an IP address to this API so you can ensure than no other person will use your account even if compromised.

HUOBI FEES :
Huobi has a 0.2 % fee that applies to both market makers and takers for amounts between $0 and $5,000,000 over the course of a 30-day period. In comparison, other top exchanges like Binance have 0.1 percent fees. Actually, it has a fair trading fees structure and easy to remember also. Meanwhile, GDAX has 0.3 percent fees.
In January 2019, Huobi Global launched a tiered fee structure that significantly reduces fees for higher-volume traders. This is relatively competitive when compared to other exchanges. Users also have the option to reduce trading fees on Huobi by becoming a VIP member. This involves paying a monthly payment of HT, which varies depending on the membership level (1-5).
Like most exchanges, Huobi has no fees on deposits. However, Huobi does have withdrawal fees minimums that vary from coin-to-coin. For example, withdrawing Bitcoin (BTC) costs 0.001 BTC, with a minimum withdrawal amount of 0.01 BTC. For Tether (USDT), the flat fee is 5 USDT. And the minimum withdrawal amount is 20 USDT. Overall, the meaning- Huobi fees are generally higher than most exchanges for lower withdrawal amounts. A few exceptions exist. For example, TUSD has a withdrawal minimum of $20 but a withdrawal fee of only $2.

IS IT TRUSTWORTHY?
In contrast to other exchanges, Huobi receives a favorable score. First of all, it is incorporated and operated from Singapore. As we all know crypto regulations are advanced there. And promote blockchain startups always. Second, Huobi does provide users with multiple ways to safeguard their accounts. Although it is not enough. Essentially, 2-factor authentication is available using both SMS and authenticator apps. The platform does not require any special confirmation if the account is logged into from an unfamiliar IP address or location. There is no option to whitelist addresses for asset withdrawal, allowing funds to be sent to any address input. Furthermore, Huobi was never hacked. Even though they do present a lucrative target for attackers. Meaning, Huobi has adopted a decentralized exchange structure, which helps to resist DDOS attacks. And we believe the exchange takes these threats seriously and does everything in their power to protect the exchange from hackers. Also, Huobi does store user funds in cold storage to restrict access to them. Actually, the exchange stores around 98 percent of funds in cold wallets.

SUPPORT :
Something else that is crucial to the entire trading experience is the level of support that the exchange provides. There is nothing more frustrating than having to wait hours for response from support.
When it comes to Huobi, there are actually quite a few options to reach their customer support. Perhaps the quickest and most effective way is through their live chat function. Firstly, they will try to help you with the available resources. If that does not work then you can reach out to a live agent.

CONCLUSION:
So, in summary. We really liked the Huobi futures products. It is not only highly functional but is also secure and leverags the expertise that the team have at the main Huobi exchange.
For the futures instruments, there is a decent range of assets and leverage. Markets are also pretty liquid and these are all traded on a simplistic yet technically able trading platform. It’s also great that you can trade on PC programs and mobile apps as well.
When it comes to security, they have taken all of the same precautions that are used on the main exchange. Their 20,000 BTC strong insurance fund keeps them well protected and they have not had a single clawback of trader funds since their inception.
Yes, there are areas for improvement but the exchanges is still evolving and building out functionality. One can only hope that they take trader suggestions into account.
So then, is it worth considering?
Well, if you are looking for a highly functional and secure futures exchange that is backed by one of the biggest names in the business, then it is well worth a try.

100 Reasons to Buy Bitcoin

  1. Bitcoin is the most censorship resistant money in the world.
  2. You don't have to buy a “whole” bitcoin so don't freak out if you look at the price. You can buy a piece of one no problem.
  3. The Dallas Mavericks accept Bitcoin on their website. You don't trust Mark Cuban. He's the best shark.
  4. Bitcoin is the best performing asset of the last decade (better than S&P500).
  5. Diversify your current portfolio.
  6. It's not illegal in the USA.
  7. You holding just one satoshi slightly limits the supply and can rise the price for everyone else.
  8. [In late 2019] hash rate is the highest it has ever been
  9. Suicide insurance; if Bitcoin rises in price there is no worse feeling than regret.
  10. Some of the smartest people in computer science and cryptography are working on it. Trust nerds.
  11. Look at the all time historical chart. No technical analysis just tell me what you think when you look at it.
  12. Money is a belief system... and I want to believe.
  13. Transparent ledger, no funny business going on it's easy to audit.
  14. Elon Musk appears to be a fan. How's that for an appeal to authority
  15. There is a fixed limit in the number of bitcoins that will exist. 21 million bitcoin, 7 billion people on earth. Do the math.
  16. There are so many examples of governments inflating their currency to the point where it becomes unusable. Read the wikipedia page for Venezuela or Zimbabwe.
  17. Altcoins make sacrifices in either security or centralization. There are altcoins out there that claim to be innovating but just check the scoreboard nothing has flipped Bitcoin in market value or even gotten close.
  18. With technology developing at a rate faster than law, governments and for-profit businesses have the ability to monitor our purchases, location, our habits, and all of this has happened without consent. People made jokes and conspiracy theory, but sometimes conspiracy is real. Most people are good, but there is absolutely evil out there. There are absolutely evil people in positions of power. There are absolutely evil people that work together in positions of power. Does anyone actually believe that Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide. Go read about Leslie Wexner. Go read the cypherpunk manifesto.
  19. The upcoming halvening in 2020 will reduce the number of Bitcoin created in each block, making them more scarce, and if history repeats more valuable.
  20. Bitcoin has lower fees than traditional banking.
  21. Gold has the advantage of being a physical thing. But unlike gold you know Bitcoin is not forged, or mixed with another metal, and you can easily break it into tiny pieces and send it over the internet to someone.
  22. Bitcoin could spark new interests maybe you start to read more into economics, computer science, or Brock Pierce.
  23. Bitcoin has survived with no leader, marketing team, public relations, or legal team.
  24. Because Wired magazine said Bitcoin was dead at $2, Forbes said it was dead at $15, NY Times at $208, and CNN at $333.
  25. Just do a cost benefit analysis. What happens if Bitcoin fails and it goes to zero vs. what happens if it succeeds, and becomes world money.
  26. Bitcoin encourages long term thinking, planning, saving. Due to inflation we are punished by holding on to cash. Look up the statistics on the average savings account while we are bombarded with consumerist bullshit like Funko pop heads, Loot crate subscription services, and new syrup flavors for coffee. Currently we are encouraged to spend now, seek immediate gratification, and ignore what we are becoming as Amazon picks out our clothes and toothpaste ships it to the house and we sit and watch streaming services where content is pushed to us and I'm supposed to buy that this garbage is actually “trending”. Our lives have become so comfortable that idiots spend $60 to escape a room and have someone take your picture when you get out. What would our ancestors think.
  27. Maybe you're a day trader looking to use a trading bot in an unregulated market.
  28. Bitcoin has 7 letters in it. Lucky number 7.....
  29. Bitcoin promises to bank the unbanked, and provide services to those not otherwise “qualified” to open a bank account.
  30. It's just cool, don't you want to seem smart to all your friends.
  31. The origin story is so nuts there's going to be a movie or several movies about the early days of Bitcoin. Satoshi Nakamoto remains anonymous to this day. Imagine if the inventor of the cell phone was anonymous.
  32. If you have money to burn, don't buy soda, weed, or some girls private snapchat it's a dead end put it towards Bitcoin and give it to your child in the future.
  33. To avoid getting ripped off by foreign exchange fees just because you were born one place and your friends were born in another place.
  34. Can't live off the grid in your log cabin and still use Mastercard. Bitcoin is one piece of opting out.
  35. If one country adopts BTC as the national currency, it doesn't take much thought to realise that others will follow.
  36. Join a welcoming and unique community. Everyone is super nice because they want your money.
  37. You can stick it to the baby boomers.
  38. You can stick it to the vegans.
  39. You can stick it Roger Ver.
  40. Maybe your IQ is 70 and you'll do whatever CNBC Fast Money recommends.
  41. Maybe a hacker infects your computer, records you doing that thing, and threatens to release the tape if you do not pay them 1.5 Bitcoin.
  42. You're a risk taker looking for some risky investment.
  43. Aliens attack like Independence Day, blow up major cities in major countries, your money is still safe with Bitcoin. As long as there is a some guy, some person, living on an island with a copy of the ledger out there on your'e good. We're all good.
  44. Many proposals to scale the number of transactions, may the best plan win.
  45. One day you might have to use BTC to pay taxes, buy food, and charge your Tesla.
  46. You want to support a political group and remain private.
  47. You can trust math more than you can trust people to set an emission rate.
  48. Government don't know how much you have.
  49. The first response to Bitcoin being published by Hal Finney stated that Bitcoin was positioned to reach million dollar valuation. Hal was the first bull and passed away in 2014, missing a lot #doitforHal.
  50. Baddies can't freeze your money if they mad at you.
  51. The Big Bang Theory mentioned it, maybe you want to be like Sheldon the bazinga guy.
  52. Mid-life crisis.
  53. Be contrarian. In a world where everyone zigs it's sometimes good to zag.
  54. Don't have any hobbies, and you just need a reason to get up in the morning.
  55. Enjoy learning? Bitcoin is a topic where there is so much to learn, and so much development, that it really becomes a never ending journey. For someone who likes learning, it's more productive than speedrunning a video game.
  56. Yolo. You only live once. This isn't a dress rehearsal, if there's something your kind of interested in pursue it. That's true for anything not just Bitcoin. But if you're reading this I'm assuming you're interested.
  57. Bitcoin is not a ponzi scheme. The difference is Bitcoin does not need new people buying in to work, blocks being added will continue even if the community stopped growing.
  58. With religion on the decline maybe you want to join a cult. Crypto twitter is a great echo chamber to meet like minded people.
  59. Satoshi Nakamoto found a way to distribute a global currency in a fair way with the ability to adjust the mining difficulty as we go, it's really incredible. You still need computers and electricity to mine new bitcoin today but it's an extremely fair way for people to earn. There was no premine of Bitcoin. Everyone who has Bitcoin either bought it at what the market said, or they earned it.
  60. No CEO in charge of Bitcoin to make bad decisions or a board of directors that can make changes. The users, an ever growing number, are in charge.
  61. Bitcoin has no days off, it has no workers in charge who can get sick or take a holiday.
  62. Bitcoin has survived 10 years (and more). While there will always be dangers, I'd argue that those first few years it was most vulnerable to fail.
  63. Have some trust in the cypherpunks. Anyone who held and didn't sell bitcoin as it went from pennies to five figures is not looking to get rich. They want to change the world.
  64. Potential president Tulsi Gabbard disclosed owning some.
  65. Digital money is the future, anyone who has tried Venmo can see that. Well Bitcoin is a digitally native asset.
  66. Refugees can use Bitcoin to store their wealth as they flee a failing country.
  67. Bitcoin is an open source project. Anthony Pompliano likes to call it a virus but I like how the author of the Bitcoin Standard describes it. Bitcoin is like a song. As long as one person remembers it you can't destroy a song.
  68. Triple entry accounting. When humans first started recording who owes who what we had single-entry accounting. The king's little brother would keep everything written down, but we had to really trust this guy because he could simply erase a line and that money would be gone. When double-entry accounting started to spread 500 years ago it brought with it massive innovation. Businesses could now form relationships across the ocean as they each kept a record. We did not have innovation again until Satoshi's Bitcoin, where blockchain can be used as the neutral third party to keep record. It might not sound important but blockchain allows us to agree upon an objective reality.
  69. Bitcoin is non-political.
  70. Bitcoin is easy to accept. I mean kind of. It's certainly easier than setting up a bank account.
  71. A sandwich used to cost 10 cents in America, I walk into Subway and they don't even have $5 foot longs anymore. Inflation man..
  72. It's a peaceful protest.
  73. Critics say that mining wastes electricity, but if Bitcoin adoption continues the world will actually be incentivized to produce more renewable energy. There are so many waterfalls and sources of energy in the middle of nowhere right now. People might not see a reason to build a power plant over there now, but in the future it can make business sense. Take that waterfall mine bitcoin, and sell them to the people who can't mine. It allows for a business to sell their energy anywhere.
  74. Get into debates around Bitcoin, build those critical thinking skills.
  75. “Predicting rain doesn't count, building arks does”
  76. “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now.”
  77. "I never considered for one second having anything to do with it. I detested it the moment it was raised. It’s just disgusting. Bitcoin is noxious poison.”
  78. The immaculate conception. No cryptocurrency can have a start the grassroots way Bitcoin did, it's just impossible given how the space has changed.
  79. There are more than 1000x more U.S. dollars today than there were a hundred years ago.
  80. Bitcoin is the largest transfer of wealth this decade from the least curious to the curious.
  81. The concept of the Star Wars Cantina, Galt's Gulch, or young Beat Generation kids sitting in a basement smoking cigarettes and questioning the world can only exist if money remains fungible.
  82. You can send money to your Dad even if he lives in a country run by bad boys.
  83. Memorize your key, and walk around the world carrying your money in your head.
  84. Free speech.
  85. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9JGmA5_unYGmA5_unY
  86. The Federal Reserve is objectively way too powerful.
  87. John Mcafe promised that if bitcoins were not valued at 1 million dollars by the end of 2020 he would eat his own penis on national television. It will be a sad day if we don't hit that 1 million.
  88. The Apple credit card.
  89. If we ever get artificial intelligence it'll be able to interact with Bitcoin.
  90. Katy Perry is aware of crypto so if by some chance you run into her, you get one chance to strike up conversation, so here's your chance to shine. You don't ask for a picture, you don't say she's pretty, or name your favorite song. Take your shot and ask about what type of cold storage she uses for her bitcoin.
  91. Many people are afraid of a world currency because it's associated with a centralized world power taking control. Bitcoin allows for neutral world money.
  92. Stick it to Mark Zuckerberg.
  93. Developers developers developers developers developer developers.
  94. About 85% of the supply has already been mined.
  95. Bitcoin can always improve. As long as the proposal is really good the code can be upgraded, and if the baddies invent ways to hurt the chain we can just fork off it's just code.
  96. Memes
  97. Name recognition and momentum above all other cryptocurrencies.
  98. 3% discount with Bitcoin at Crescent Tide Cremation Services. Nice cant wait to die.
  99. Like having a swiss bank account in your pocket.
  100. Blow up the banks (in minecraft).

My expiriences with crypto exchange Kraken.

So when learning about trading it is logical that first several years will yield more losses than profits. So far so that most traders suggest that your starting portfolio shouldn't be larger what you are willing to throw away.
So in September I joined Kraken, with ~100 EUR in LTC/BTC currency. And of course I lost 30 % in first week due to me getting accustomed with GUI , charts, SMA/EMAand etc while learning about analysis and losing in value to falling market.
Then drop of 8500-7500 happened in second week of September, and I accidentally shortened the BTC. Which was lucky but I contacted support team to explain to me what I have done. They were (generally are) polite and pointed me to the webinar that was supposed to be held on 6th November.
I closed the short position on 8th of October (classic FOMO) , got long and canceled that on October 10-11. So far I was up 5 EUR and down 3 (long was on higher leverage). So I shortened it again and waited. On 18th October I have just learned about stop-loss and take-profit and I placed it on 10 EUR above current price at the time.
Now you might hear ominous bells in the background as we approach the 25-th and 26-st October. So on that fated day, price busted trough my stop loss and locked me out of making any trade. I was in hell (figuratively) watching how I was loosing 20+ EUR not being able to do anything.
Once dust has settled and I have cut my losses (on 27-nth) , I decided to contact support team again to notify them that I was locked out of trading in order for them to fix any issues they might've been experiencing. They were nice and pleasant, and told me next time that happens to refresh my browser, clear my cookies, click sync bunch of times, log off and on, refresh tab on my browser, exit my browser and restart it again and restart my computer. And then kind people from support team (they were changing every 15 minutes, while I had to explain everything from the start) made me an technical support ticket and sent them to their trading support team[tsm].
There came 28th October, and I started new long position since I was under false influence that China or whatever will bounce bitcoin back to 10 K. I was mostly driven by replenishing the loses (at least 20 EUR one ) - NEVER TRADE ON EMOTION... this was my big mistake.
Then on 29th October, the lock down happened again. And after doing all steps they listed earlier - with no change whatsoever - I contacted the support team once again. They repeated the steps I have already done, and generated new ticket to trading support team. when I asked them what is the status of my previous ticket - they have told me that someone will get in touch with me soon.
My next mistake was trying to rustle with the market instead of waiting for response of tsm. I went down to 35 EUR till end of the October.
The webinar wasn't held, and response I got was to try "refresh my browser, clear my cookies, click sync bunch of times, log off and on, refresh tab on my browser, exit my browser and restart it again and restart my computer." and let them know if it doesn't start in half of an hour. It didn't, they apologized... no harm no foul. Soon after that (couple of days) John from tsm contacted me telling me I need to give him screen shot next time that happens, and on 3rd November it happened again. So I made screenshot and cropped the picture to show the issue and sent it to him. Keith replied next day that telling me that he needs it timestamped (although they have access to my ledger and every picture has binary date time block in their binary code ) , on which I told him that each picture is timestamped in binary. And if that happened again could I be refunded, and if I couldn't be refunded I would then write an review , forward all data to California state or ask for an refund.
Next two days no response. Then It happened again, I made screen shots of my phone (with date and time clearly visible) and asked him what is his response on refund part. And Maximus responed me with
I have gone to our dev's regarding your Rate Limitation Error. Every action taken on Kraken Pro (adding/closing/cancelling orders + retrieve balance (Sync)) is hitting the API. If too many actions are taken in a short period of time and you’ll receive this error and be temporarily locked out until you recover “points or allowance”.
I'm sorry for your frustration. Our Kraken Interface at kraken.com might be more suitable to your style of trading.
Then I asked again about refunds, and person who introduced himself as Kevin(later signed as Maximus) told me :
Kraken does not take the other side of your trade ans as such does not refund or reimburse for trades.
I copied whole ledger, and tried to withdraw my funds (with no luck ) and tried to trade in order to increase my funds so I can withdraw them and leave the hell hole that is their platform. And to no ones surprise I have lost 10 EUR till then. And interface on kraken.com that didn't help at all. Timed bid executed immediately on market price (instead of limit) with taker fees, stop losses executed randomly ... and etc.
Then I was locked out again, my short position order was filled, but my position held 0.00065 btc instead of 0.013 btc, I contacted the support yet again , where after Andrew replaced Maxima an phantom order (which I didn't fill) canceling the difference of 0.01235 btc appeared before my eyes. Andrew tried to submit new ticket to technical suport team, and when I asked him for their names... Andrew refused to tell me, mentioning that I have been in contact with them (Maximus, John, Kevin, Keith .... and of course Kevin Maximus). On which I finally saw where this was going, persuaded Andrew to withdraw my funds and left the fucking website.
If you are using Kraken, don't. I was extremely stupid hanging on trough all that stuff. Leave it and go to another. Americans especially, after some data analysis the API calls jump 2 hours before American time zones, and diminish 10 hours later.

The First-generation Terminal — MoonBot

The First-generation Terminal — MoonBot

Moonbot
Our team has developed and is supporting the trading terminal MoonBot which was introduced in October 3, 2017. Currently, the performance of MoonBot surpasses that of most existing trading systems as a result of its advanced functionality and the high security features designed to protect your trading activities.
Secure Connection to the Exchange
The connection from MoonBot to an Exchange is carried out using special keys that the user receives from an exchange such as Binance or Bittrex.
MoonBot connects securely to cryptocurrency trading Exchanges through two special keys which are uniquely and only known to their owner. These are the API key, and the Secret key, both of which the users receives directly from the Exchange.
The MoonBot terminal then receives data and information from the exchange’s API collected at several different access levels, including:
Public information (publicly accessible data related to trading in general):
  • charts;
  • quotes;
  • orderbook;
  • real-time executed orders.
  • Authenticated information (unique to the users and which requires authentication access using the special keys): personal account status (wallet balances);
  • user transactions (such as the details of executed trades).
After receiving the various data information from the exchange, the terminal records these data in a local database for further processing and application.
Security Systems
The MoonBot terminal provides completely private storage of all your personal data!
The MoonBot team has absolutely no access to personal data, you are the only one controlling its security and have complete control over access to your details.
The MoonBot team are not able to withdraw, nor to move, any funds from your personal Exchange account or wallet.
You can therefore safely use the terminal for trading, receiving public information from the Exchange, and should you wish to share with others, the trading data on your account.
You therefore are the only person with control and access to your Exchange wallet, and can be completely assured of the absolute security of your private funds.
Lightning-fast Execution of the Orders on the Exchange and Order Status Update
Depending on the distance of the user from the exchange servers, the delay in order execution should not exceed 1 second. Theoretically, the delay can be reduced to a minimum intangible — 10–20 ms. Below is presented a very short extract(4 seconds in total) of the MoonBot log text file with brief explanations and highlights of the key features.

The MoonBot log text file with brief explanations and highlights of the key features.

Tick Chart. Display of All Orders on the Chart
Thanks to the API connection to the exchange, the terminal receives stream data of all filled orders on the exchange as soon as they were processed by the exchange servers and immediately displays them on the chart.
Tick Chart.
Thus, the visualization of the current state of the market is provided in real time with an accuracy of tens of milliseconds and as detailed as displaying each order on the chart.

Auto Trading on Signals
Fully automatic processing and trading off Telegram signals as well as parced TradingView alerts.

Automatic Detection of Market Conditions and Reaction to its Changes
Thanks to streaming data acquisition, the terminal monitors all available markets simultaneously, and is therefore able to react almost instantaneously as favorable trading possibilities are presented. And due to the minimal delay in the execution of orders, MoonBot responds to abnormal changes almost instantly.

Advanced Orders. Stop Loss, Take Profit, Trailing Stop
OCO orders (one cancels the other) are one of the most sought-after functions from both the Exchanges providing liquidity to the markets, and applications running on top of the exchanges. The modern Trader cannot trade without the basic “smart” functions and addons to traditional exchange orders and considers them to be the minimum necessary set in their armory.

Stop Loss
One of the most important tools for Traders is to be able to place orders whilst practicing safe money management in order to mitigate against losses. One of the most important safety tools is to use a Stop Loss, which is especially important in volatile, low liquidity markets.
With MoonBot, the user can set a Stop Loss threshold (either as a percentage of the order price, or as a number of price points), which their strategy can accept should the price move in the opposite direction to that expected. When this threshold value has been reached, the order will be closed automatically.
Technically, a Stop Loss can be set up in two ways: either as a stop-limit order placed directly on the exchange at the same time as the initial position is opened; or as a function controlled in real-time by the MoonBot terminal itself. Additional types of conditional Stop Loss functions include:
  1. Additional and conditional Stop Losses – these are activated by a timer, and depend on the price reached. Thus Moonbot can raise the Stop Loss to a break-even point, or can be set to move upward to follow coin growth and to achieve higher profitability.
  2. BV/SV Ratio Stop Loss — this is a measure of buying/selling pressure and depends on the ratio of the volume of coin purchases compared against sales over a given time range. For example, if the number of sales exceeds the number of purchases, then this Stop Loss would be activated
  3. V-STOP — this is a stop which depends on the volume in the orderbook, where a price and volume level is set, which if broken will activate the Stop Loss.
  4. Trailing Stop — Trailing Stop is a General Stop Loss Management Tool. This very important feature allows the Trader to maximize profit in an automatic mode by following upward price movements, until the price reverses by a preset amount. At that stage the Stop Loss is activated.
    Take Profit
The Trader can fix the profit gained as the value of an asset increases in several ways:
  • By closing the position after a predefined profit percentage has been reached.
  • By remaining in the position, and setting the Stop Loss level to break-even, or to higher profit levels.

Algorithmic Trading
At the moment, MoonBot has 13 types of strategies in-built (manual) using specific and well-proven algorithms (algorithmic trading or algo-trading).
Together these have more than 200 adjustable parameters that can be adjusted to optimize their profitability across the wide range of trending and ranging markets that occur.

Trusted Management
MoonBot includes a successful and well-tested Trusted Management feature, in other words — Copy Trading:
  • All trade actions from the Master Terminal are repeated on the Follower’s Terminal (slave terminal).
  • The Follower’s deposit remains securely in their own personal exchange account.
  • The Trusted Management feature does not have direct access to money, or to direct trading on someone else’s account, but manages only its own Exchange orders, simultaneously broadcasting encrypted messages to Followers terminals containing all Master actions.

Trust Management is successfully implemented and used by members of our community. The statistics of those TM Traders who share their results can be reviewed on the website — stat.moon-bot.com on the RatingTM tab.
Community
During the two years of development of the MoonBot terminal, more than 30,000 copies have been registered and used by our Community of Traders.
Every day several thousand people trade cryptocurrencies using the MoonBot terminal, making daily approximately one hundred thousand manual and automatic transactions only on the leading crypto-currency exchange — Binance.
The existing community of traders is actively developing. The MoonBot project has its own active pages on popular social networks, in dedicated Telegram channels divided by topics, and also its own Trader’s forum available to subscribers.

EXPERIMENT - Tracking Top 10 Cryptocurrencies for Two Years (2018 & 2019) - Month Sixteen - Down 82%

EXPERIMENT - Tracking Top 10 Cryptocurrencies for Two Years (2018 & 2019) - Month Sixteen - Down 82%
Three good months in a row, still down -82%
Click here for full blog post with all the charts
tl;dr - April marked the third positive month in a row. Still down -82% over life of experiment. Bitcoin retakes overall lead from Stellar. Bitcoin Cash wins best monthly performer for the first time since the experiment began 16 months ago.

The Experiment:

Instead of hypothetically tracking cryptos, I made an actual $1000 investment, $100 in each of the Top 10 cryptocurrencies by market cap as of the 1st of January 2018. Think of it as a lazy man's Index Fund (no weighting or rebalancing), less technical, more fun (for me at least), and hopefully still a proxy for the market as a whole - or at the very least an interesting snapshot of the 2018/2019 crypto space. I’m trying to keep it simple and accessible for beginners and those looking to get into crypto but maybe not quite ready to jump in yet.
I have also started a parallel project: on January 1st, 2019, I repeated the experiment, purchasing another $1000 ($100 each) into the new Top Ten cryptos as of January 1st 2019.

The Rules:

Buy $100 of each the Top 10 cryptocurrencies on January 1st, 2018. Run the experiment two years. Hold only. No selling. No trading. Report monthly.

Month Sixteen - Down 82%

https://preview.redd.it/4hhg1jru7mv21.png?width=1128&format=png&auto=webp&s=5b75887b83d96c886397a046e865fa9756ec94a2
April marked yet another solid month - we've now seen three strong months in a row. While 6 out of the 10 were flat or slightly down, the remaining four cryptos more than made up the difference, gaining between +12% and +49%.

Ranking

Just two cryptos moved this month. Stellar dropped from #8 to #9 and Bitcoin Cash moved up two spots from #6 to #4 after a very strong April.
NEM, Dash, and IOTA are Top Ten dropouts - they have been replaced by EOS, Binance Coin, and Tether. NEM holds the dubious distinction of being the first crypto in the experiment to have fallen out of the Top Twenty.
April Winners - Here's something you don't see everyday: Bitcoin Cashabsolutely crushed the field this month, up +49% in April. In fact, this was the first time Bitcoin Cash has ended a month outperforming its Top Ten peers since I began the experiment 16 months ago. Bitcoin finished second this month, up nearly +30%
April Losers - Stellar had a tough April, finishing the month down -8% and dropping a place in the ranking. The rest were either flat or down a few percentage points - no big deal for crypto.
For those keeping score, here is tally of which coins have the most monthly wins and loses during the first 16 months of this experiment. Most monthly wins (3): Litecoin. Most monthly loses (4): NEM. Special mention goes to Bitcoin Cash which finally logged its first win this month.

Overall update – Back and forth between Bitcoin and Stellar continues. NEM and IOTA at the bottom.

Stellar's tough month dropped it from overall experiment champion to third best performing crypto over the life of the experiment. Bitcoinregained the lead, now 'only' down -60% from January 2018 and now Litecoin has passed Stellar as well.
Bitcoin Cash's phenomenal April allowed it to barely crawl out of the cellar, but is still down -90% since the beginning of the experiment. NEMis the worst overall performer (down -94%) followed by IOTA which is down -91%. My initial $100 investment in NEM is worth just $5.91 and IOTA is worth $8.21.

Total Market Cap for the entire cryptocurrency sector:

The total crypto market cap increased over $25B in April, up +18% from last month's report. It is down -70% since the beginning of the experiment, January 1st, 2018. At $171B, the market is at its highest point since November 2018.

Bitcoin dominance:

Bitcoin dominance jumped quite a bit in April, now standing at nearly 55%. This is the highest point Bitcoin dominance has reached so far in the experiment.

Overall return on investment from January 1st, 2018:

My Top Ten of 2018 portfolio increased nearly $15 in total value this month. Another tiny gain, but noteworthy, as ending three months in a row in positive territory is a first so far in the experiment.
If I cashed out today, my $1000 initial investment would return about $181, down -82%.
Another rare event: I have almost always ended months setting a record low in terms of value over the life of the experiment. April marks the third month in a row where this has not the case.

Implications/Observations:

Recording three solid months in a row is new territory for this experiment. While it feels like the bottom could drop out again any day, the string of positive months keeps increasing.
Of note this month is the record high Bitcoin dominance, the highest since the experiment started in January 2018. This, coupled with the rise in the crypto market cap, shows that while enthusiasm for crypto is growing, it is focused on the most well know options - people are cautious at the moment about investing in altcoins, but seem to be more willing to invest in Bitcoin.
On a related note, Bitcoin reclaimed the overall lead this month in a convincing manner - it is 7% ahead of second place Litecoin.
The experiment's focus of solely holding the Top Ten continues to be a losing proposition. While the overall market is down -70% from January 2018, the cryptos that began 2018 in the Top Ten are down -82% over the same period of time. At no point in the experiment has this investment strategy worked: the initial 2018 Top Ten continue to under-perform compared to the market overall.
The 12% difference is up significantly from last month's 8% difference. It is the widest gap so far and was also seen at one point last year (September 2018).
I'm also tracking the S&P 500 as part of my experiment to have a comparison point with other popular investments options. After a pretty significant December dip, the stock market continues to rebound. It's up over +10% since the beginning of 2018, so that $1k investment I threw into crypto would have yielded +$100.

Conclusion:

February, March, and now April have been quietly solid months for crypto. I personally would be quite satisfied to have these slow, steady $15B-$25B monthly gains for a while instead of the volatile periods, but it does feel a bit like the calm before the storm.
Thanks for reading and the support for the experiment. I hope you’ve found it helpful. I continue to be committed to seeing this process through and reporting along the way. Feel free to reach out with any questions and stay tuned for progress reports.

Moon Math Update: Bitcoin is ready to grow again

Go to http://moonmath.win for the full update and rainbow charts
I've said this before: When I get quiet, it's time to accumulate. I've been quiet. Before I went quiet I suggested it was a good time to DCA into a position. The jury is far from out on that, but I think moon math is tracking pretty well with this retrace.
Moon Math takes a long-term bull perspective. It doesn't say "Insane awesome returns forever!" Instead, it invites you to consider our current price position against past trends. I know for a fact that some people look at the rainbow charts and think "Oh boy, we're in the red and it's only up from here." That's insane. Don't do that again. Projecting the price based on the trend from the ATH isn't going to work out for anyone. The Moon Math we're seeing today is probably a better projector of performance than any time in the last several months (I'll get that time travel feature done someday).
Is this retrace over? I'm going to shout an unsatisfying and resounding "possibly" on this. Part of the reason that I haven't been posting is that my position on this hasn't changed. "Possibly" and "no change" is a boring answer, but I'll spice it up for you a little today, because the outlook has improved from when I last posted.

BBands are tightening.

BBands have been tightening for a while, and we're going to start seeing tight BBands on the 12-hour chart soon. Bitcoin is volatile. BBands like this predict a move in one direction or the other. A direction for the price will be more firmly established in the next five days. If it breaks down I expect slower growth over the next four to six months as well as significantly less volatility. If we break up, then I think we’ll see continued parabolic growth on the log chart and a new ATH in the next month. Clearly, I think that the price breaking down one more time will be good for Bitcoin long-term.
We can sustain BBands this tight for months at a time. Observe the 12-hour bands In April through June in 2017. That pattern shows the price doubling in 2 months. So, nothing definitive there. Having a direction doesn't mean we'll have a big change in price, though.

Bouncing off the bottom of our short-term trend

We've bounced off the bottom of our short-term trend 4 times in the last two weeks with decreasing bear volume. That indicates that there's a lot of support at the bottom of our trend. The drop in volume shows that bears are running out of supply.

The short-term up trend is sustainable

The slope of our short-term trend is only slightly greater than the 6-month trend. IMO, fundamentals show that it's possible to maintain that trend indefinitely. That's true of a rational market, anyway.

Local Bitcoins Volume is growing

Volume at Local Bitcoins is about 5x to 6x what it was this time last year. I'm not sure they can bust at the seams like that for another year, but linear growth from here seems like a conservative expectation for at least the next year. I suspect we're going to see about 40 to 80 million USD a day flow into Bitcoin through Local Bitcoins by the end of 2018. That will be an important metric used to analyze our entrance into a pre-halving market through 2019.

Sentiment is as low as we've seen in a while

Consider the price and infrastructure of Bitcoin today vs six months ago. Consider the attacks we've flourished through. It's normal to see sentiment turn against Bitcoin. If it didn't we'd see unstainable growth and even more volatility. If you bet against the crowd, now is the time to make a bet.
Going back into my hole and shutting up while I'm proven right, again. Maybe I'll check in again later this week.
Good hunting

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Sunday, 8 September, 2019. Yesterday was amazing. Today was better.

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Sunday, 8 September, 2019. Yesterday was amazing. Today was better.
Yesterday was amazing. Today was better. 30 day average starting to get dragged upwards again.
Long term outlook: Do banks suddenly care about the rank and file? Nope. Do shady governments suddenly respect the wealth and property and privacy of their citizens? Nope. Are stupid dictators less likely to attempt to inflate their way out of the latest emergency? Are there still 2 or 3 Billion people with virtually no banking services? Yes, yes there are. Can you easily send money to Venezuela or Zimbabwe through the legacy banking system without paying an arm and a leg? No, you cannot.
For the previous 7 day period:
  1. Dash outperformed 11 of the 15 coins ranked above us (73%). The 30 day SMA is 41%.
  2. Dash outperformed 9 of the 10 coins ranked below us (90%). The 30 day SMA is 48%.
  3. In total, Dash outperformed 20 of the top 25 coins (80%). The 30 day SMA is 44%.
  4. Bitcoin dominance dropped 7/10ths to 69.2%.
  5. 3 of the top 25 coins beat Bitcoin (12%).
As always, this is not investment advise. Do your own homework. All crypto is risky. Don’t invest more in crypto than you can afford to lose.

^ Dash versus the 15 coins listed above us. 30 day average turning up a bit. Still needs follow through.

^ Dash versus the 10 coins listed below us. More up. Up = good.

^ The Broad Competitive Basket Index of Dash vs the top 25 coins. Dash still looking strong.

^ Dash versus LiteCoin transactions. Note the cursor is sitting at one year ago. Litecoin 28,000, Dash 7,000.

Now look at the cursor on the present day, LiteCoin still at 28,000, Dash at 16,000. We are eating their lunch, the world just hasn't quite recognized that fact yet and adjusted our marketcap.
Never trust some random dude on the internet. Go look at the charts for yourself. Make other comparisons. Get educated. https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/transactions-ltc-dash.html#log&1y

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Tuesday, 15 October, 2019. Well, it's not a rocket, but it's getting better.

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Tuesday, 15 October, 2019. Well, it's not a rocket, but it's getting better.
Getting there. It’s not a rocket, but it is movement in the correct direction. In the last 24 hours the dollar value of Dash went up $1.64, so that’s not chicken feed. On the 24 hour time frame, we are beating 14 of the 17 coins listed above us and 9 of the 10 coins listed below us. While that is very bullish, the 24 hour data is notoriously fickle. I don’t trust it until the good news turns up in the 7 day data. I suspect it will take a few days for the great news that Dash is getting listed on Binance US to percolate through the cryptosphere.
And since Tok reminded me (Thanks!) I’ll print the long term transaction chart comparing Dash to LiteCoin. For those who prefer the hard numbers, when Dash first came on line, LiteCoin had approximately 10x the transactions of Dash. Today we make 75.9% as many transactions as LiteCoin, and we’re still gaining on them. We also occasionally surpass their numbers.
So if the market really cared about adoption and real world use, Dash should have a market cap that is 75% of LiteCoin and gaining. That would put the Dash market cap at around 2.6 Billion instead of 0.66 Billion. Or a dollar value per Dash of $280. We have a far more talented and active dev team. We have 20x the number of innovations. Why are we not kicking the snot out of LiteCoin?
For the previous 7 day time frame:
  1. Dash outperformed 6 of the 17 coins ranked above us (35%). The 30 day SMA* is 41.4%.
  2. Dash outperformed 3 of the 10 coins ranked below us (30%). The 30 day SMA* is 40.0%.
  3. In total, Dash outperformed 9 of the top 27 coins (33%). The 30 day SMA* is 40.8%.
  4. Bitcoin dominance was unchanged at 65.5%.
  5. 16 of the top 27 coins beat Bitcoin (59.3%) not including Dash.
  6. 17 of the top 27 cryptos were in the green (63.0%) not including Dash.
* The 30 day SMA is the Simple Moving Average for the last 30 days. It is represented with the red line.
As always, this is not investment advise. This is presented for entertainment and educational purposes only. Do your own homework. Don’t trust some rando guy on the internet. All crypto is risky. Don’t invest more in crypto than you can afford to lose.

^ Dash vs LiteCoin, number of transactions, log scale.

^ Dash vs the 17 coins listed above us. Still below the moving average, but showing signs of life.

^ Dash versus the 10 coins listed below us. Not great, but not dead. It will take a few days for the awesome news of Dash getting listed on Binance US to percolate through the cryptosphere.

^ The Broad Competitive Basket Index of Dash vs the top 27 cryptocurrencies in the world. Same thing, nothing amazing today.

A call to arms.

Alright redditors,
We can all sit here and shitpost or eat tons of mayo but if we make high quality shitpost we might actually help the cause.
What am I talking about? We're having a huge opportunity handed to us. Let's go over the facts.
1) There is a massive influx underway of new users. https://www.reddit.com/litecoin/comments/7ggmid/coinbase_we_are_experiencing_all_time_high/ https://twitter.com/ramikawach/status/936125519820492800
2) These are not yet all integrated into the ecosystem but yesterday we saw a preview of what this means during rising prices for the networks. ETH, BTC and LTC all set new record for transaction numbers. https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/transactions-btc-eth-ltc.html#log#3m
3) For bitcoin this 400k transactions a day is known to be an absolute max under its current form. All blocks are full and the miners saw huge growth in the last weeks leading to an unprecedented amount of blocks mined in one day. (173 vs the hardcoded 144 (under no miner growth))
4) Ethereum saw 663k txs yesterday and 637k as an average over the last three days. It is my belief it can currently handle up to 900k, and will see mempool bloating and the rising of the fees before that.
Calculations for the 900k:
Average gas limit per block is 6,715,000: https://etherscan.io/chart/gaslimit
Average blocks per day: 6350 https://etherscan.io/chart/blocktime (need a zoom for this one) (block every 13,6 seconds)
This leads to a gas limit of 42,640,000,000 per day.
The past three days we saw on average 30,000,000,000 gas spent. https://etherscan.io/chart/gasused
This means we were at 70,35% capacity over the past three days where 637k/day were transacted.
This leaves me to believe ethereum has a total capacity of 905k/day.
5) Litecoin has exactly 4 times the capacity of bitcoin. This means it can deal with 1 million transactions per day without bloating the mempool and with 1,5 million when the mempool is fully bloated and transaction fees have risen to 1 or several dollars.
6) Bitcoin Cash is not traded on Bitstamp nor GDAX (2 of the top 10 exchanges) and is not well viewed in the core camp. It also did not see anywhere near a new ATH in terms of transactions yesterday.
7) This is exactly Charlie's vision. To use Litecoin for many smaller transaction. To have users make the shift from 100% bitcoin to 80% bitcoin / 20% litecoin. And it might happen as soon as next week. If the influx of new people is real and the ether limit of 900k proves right, there will be an unprecedented demand for transactions compounded by a decrease in output of the bitcoin network after its difficulty increase and there will be only 1 network that has both the capacity and availability on every major exchange. Litecoin.
So my proposal is to keep spreading this info, make it into reality. Showcase how great LTC functions as a payment network. I'm sure if litecoin surpasses bitcoin in number of transactions, the price will also do good things.

Moon Math Update: Core and the acceptance of the first practical scaling solution

Looking at yesterday's post again, it's apparent that clarification is needed.
We have Lightning. We have Segwit. We have the best development team with the most experience implementing their own vision.

This is not a political debate.

This is a discussion about software engineering that everyone can participate in. You can talk about it, and you can vote with your dollars. How you decide to participate in it will have financial implications no matter what you do.
Even though this is a conversation that you are forced to participate in, it does still have a lot of nuance and complication. Segwit and Lightning aren't understood. Motivations for their creation don't seem to be understood. Their actual implementations aren't understood at all. The distinctions between Core's implementations and Altcoin implementations isn't understood. Adoption rates of Segwit aren't understood. Leaving Segwit out of the Core wallet GUI isn't understood. The rate of Segwit adoption isn't understood. The implications of doubling the rate of growth of the blockchain with a single change aren't understood... Lots of things are not understood and Core is busier solving issues than they are explaining them to people who don't understand the issues they are solving.

That's too much to research: I don't care

I'm trying to get people engaged in the conversation so they can find motivation to understand. I, we, need communicate with people who disagree with us to do that. I, we, want and need to hear complete and sensible arguments that make us rethink our positions and complete our perspectives. It doesn't make you right to be that person. It also doesn't make you wrong. However, we do need faith that Core knows what the hell they are doing. If we don't have that faith, then we need a good explanation, because all of them are at the very top of their field and doing the very best work.

How do you know that Core is best in class

I read the commit history and the commit logs, and you can too. I read the source code, and you can too. I see the bug reports, and you can too. I review the conversations they have, and you can too.
No other blockchain project I'm aware of is operating at this high of a level. If you disagree with that, I need to see you reference these sources. Otherwise, your disagreement is just your opinion. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. Do your homework. Point at the specific problems you're observing. It's not enough to have an opinion; you need to have a reason why.

Why is Core leveraging economic pressure onto the community adopt their scaling solutions?

The central premise of the blockchain as a solution for the Byzantine General's Problem is that the collective we can continue forcing future generations to store and re-record the transactions of the past. There are mathematically proven realities that force design choices onto software developers who are aware of this. One rule is that you cannot have or imply a rate of storage that grows at a logarithmic rate.
You can argue that the rate of growth for the blockchain is irrelevant because storage density increases with Moore's Law, Logarithmically or exponentially. That argument does negate the above first rule. However, Bitcoin Core devs are following the implications that they see when they make design choices, and not just what is shown when they write out the implications of their choices using Big O notation.

What does it mean or imply when you say that Core is looking at more than just the Big O notation?

Doubling the rate of growth of the blockchain implies a logarithmic increase in the size of the blockchain through an analysis using Big O notation against the source code. Big O notation only shows a linear change. Objectively, the blockchain will only grow at a linear rate.
However, we see that a logarithmic change is implied. The logarithmic rate of growth is observed outside of the source code. We can see pieces of it in the issues that are filed in GitHub and the conversations devs have about the changes they want to make. What we see when we're observing the software from the outside is a singe change that doubles the rate of growth of the blockchain.

Big O says it's linear change, but we observe an exponential change. Why?

If we accept that the only way to increase the transaction limit is to increase the required size of the storage medium, that's what we'll do. After some period the blocks will fill up again and we'll be back to where we started. Economic pressure will again force developers to increase the block size. So, to meaningfully change it they double the block size again. This scaling problem will increase at some regular interval. That shows exponential growth in the size of the block chain.
The block size proposal is not a solution to the scaling problem, it's capitulation to the problem. That's the solution you see implemented by most blockchains today, and it's why they'll all eventually fail.

So, if you can't safely solve the problem by increasing the block size then how do you solve it?

You solve it by sharing the responsibility with other block chains and optimizing the way you store information in the block space you already have. That's Segwit and Lightning. There may be, and probably will be, more solutions that don't require increasing the block size in the future.

Why is everyone bitching about it, then?

The problem with these solutions are that they require the community to participate in the process. It forces people who are economically rewarded by their participation, to make changes in how they interact with Bitcoin.
I must pay to transfer my coins to a Segwit wallet that utilizes lightning if I want free transactions. That's going to cost money and be a pain in the ass.
Coinbase must hire developers to implement these solutions. Then it must pay people to maintain them. Obviously, they'd rather not do that. So, they tried to pass that responsibility off to everyone else. Finally, today, they capitulated. They were successfully forced to participate by contributing directly to the Bitcoin ecosystem instead of relentlessly and freely profiting from it.

Conclusion

The economic pressure Core is placing on vendors is part of the software solution to the scaling problem, and it's working. Today, Brain Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, announced that Coinbase is working on Segwit, and possibly Lightning.
https://twitter.com/brian_armstrong/status/951869357931425792
The implications are clear. When Coinbase implements Segwit the transaction backlog will be substantially reduced.
I keep saying that the realization that Core was always right will come in waves. This is wave one. The following waves will negatively impact all alts, save maybe one or two.
Mainstream acceptance isn't just allowing Bitcoin to exist, buy, and hodl. Mainstream acceptance is integrating directly into a single established backbone via software and networks. Bitcoin is establishing a long-term presence as a financial backbone. That's lightning, and Coinbase, along with others, who will implement a viable business model on top of a single tool that outcompetes all banks and institutions that are trying to implement this, badly, for themselves.
How many alts are going to have Segwit and lightning, and then have Coinbase integrate their business model into that? Not a lot. How many banks will do that? None, today. The question, rather, is which one, and which open blockchain will they choose to do that with?
Good hunting.

Major Moon Math Update

I take one week off, and look at what you all went and did.
I took a wild stab and figuring out the new bull channel, if there's going to be one. It will take more time and data to come up with a stable rate, but this is my best guess for now. I added a log chart for the bull channel, too.
You can see how aggressive a slight increase in the bull channel is. If it's going to sustain the way it did in 2017 then we're looking at an incredible rainbow. In every color but purple we're over 100,000 USD by the end of 2018 . That's extremely aggressive price performance. What would it take for bitcoin to aquire a 1 trillion dollar market cap by the end of 2018? You tell me, because I can't think of a reasonable scenario. Everything seems to point at a black swan event for USD, or some other major currency.
The new medium term price target is based on the log scale. 31,620 USD is half way to 100,000 USD, and we're basically half way to that.

Major Moon Math Update: 2017-12-05

Still waiting on more volatility to confirm the range of the current "Insane Bull Channel." However, we're continuing our explosive break through the previous log channel. Despite my best wishes, it's no longer reasonable to put the "Insane Bull Channel" at 1.2% CDPR. _chewtoy_ got it right, again. I'm still holding back from the 1.5% - 2.0% CPDR that he called, but that can easily change in an instant.
To illustrate exactly how insane the current growth rate is I added an extra row with a price target of one hundred million USD/BTC.
I'm also adding a price chart that projects Local Bitcoins global USD volume growth based on the last year of performance. I'll release an update to that every week in a major moon math update like this.
nannal 2020 isn't far from pushing up another few percentage points. I need to debug the nannal 's A+ column because it doesn't seem to be flipping at the right time. I'll keep you posted about any changes to that.
Good hunting.

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Friday, 30 August. And........back in the toilet we go.

Dash Competitive Basket Index for Friday, 30 August. And........back in the toilet we go.
For the previous 7 day period:
  1. Dash outperformed 4 of the 15 coins ranked above us (27%). The 30 day SMA is 39%.
  2. Dash outperformed 2 of the 10 coins ranked below us (20%). The 30 day SMA is 46%.
  3. In total, Dash outperformed 6 of the top 25 coins (24%). The 30 day SMA is 42%.
  4. Bitcoin dominance remained unchanged (again) at 68.2%.
  5. 9 of the top 25 coins beat Bitcoin (36%).
Back in the toilet. So much for the cliff hanger. That’s all I’m saying today.
As always, this is not investment advise. Do your own homework. All crypto is risky. Don’t invest more in crypto than you can afford to lose.

^ Dash vs the 15 coins listed above us.

^ Dash versus the 10 coins listed below us.

^ The Broad Competitive Index of Dash vs the top 25 coins. Still clinging to the uptrend by our fingernails.

I stated the other day that Bitcoin has handed us the use case as honest money......on a silver platter. Here is evidence. Look at the difference in cost per transaction. Note that this is a log scale chart. This actually makes Bitcoin look more competitive. If I used the linear scale chart, it just squashes Dash down on the x-axis and you can't even tell that it has a cost compared to Bitcoin. I should publish that one too.

Bitcoin getting cheaper per transaction. Still 100x the price of Dash.

Moon Math Update - 2018-01-29

Your Daily Moon Math - 2018-01-12

[Help me to Contact Poloniex] - Margin BUG – $40.000 Dissappeared

Ok guys, I hope the best but I want to contact Poloniex and I think this place could help me.
July 11: one of my positions in margin trading was in SHORT. Remember I was thinking were time to close, so I clicked in “CLOSE” button. After that, and as I did every time, I taken screenshot of my balances, my bitcoins in margin account and others coins more (valued at 13 bitcoins) dissappeared without reason. The short position at that time was closed with 0.30 bitcoins profit. Resume: -13.30 BITCOINS
So, I opened a ticket support to get help. I’m still waiting like most people here. If my account was secure, I could have more calm. I have some margin positions compromised.
July 12: at night, thanks to God, the system sent to my account 12 bitcoins without reason. I’m still missing 1.30 bitcoins from that operation.
But that did not end there. With the bictoins I bought other coins hoping it increase (I was looking charts) and with this gains re buy the last coins that poloniex system sold from my account. At that point with this 12 bitcoins I can’t buy again same coins at higher prices.
I continued doing some trdes with good profits, but in July 17 I opened a new SHORT position hoping the prices get down and based on my charts. ( you can look that prices fell from that day to today )
July 20: I closed the position again fom the “CLOSE” button. And for the grace of Poloniex the BUG happened again. YES ¡!! Second time. YES ¡!! The system took more and more money from my account margin at the same time I pushed the close button. Poloniex has more than 14 BITCOINS from my margin account in somewhere but under their control.
Imagine my face when I saw this situation again, my margin account changed form 60% to 40% in 2 seconds. I updated my ticket support again, I sent more updates but NO ONE person of Poloniex replied me. One guy (thanks to you if you are reading) spoke with his personal support of Poloniex about my situation and asked for help in my name, but no answers yet. I’m level 3 verified. I’m alone. No help, no answers, no respect.
I received some automated e-mails from Poloniex about my margin account when it was at 29 and 27%. By their fault my account is compromised.
July 23: still waiting for answers and help.
So, why I came here? I want to contact them. I want Poloniex to take this situation SERIOUSLY. (already I sent msg to Mike-Poloniex )
I have every screenshot, every history log of my trading account, everything to demostrate this BUG.
My account is destroyed, I sold others positions (exchange) with good returns to secure my margin and don't get liquidated. I really want they restore my account before this BUG happened.
I made every step here: https://www.reddit.com/CryptoSafety/comments/6l8988/having_trouble_with_poloniex/

Decred Journal – July 2018

Note: you can read this on Medium, GitHub or old Reddit to view all the links

Development

dcrd: Several steps towards multipeer downloads completed: an optimization to use in-memory block index and a new 1337 chain view. Maintenance: improved test coverage, upgrading dependency management system and preparing for the upcoming Go 1.11 release.
dcrwallet: A big change introducing optional privacy-preserving SPV sync mode was merged. In this mode dcrwallet does not download the full blockchain but only gets the "filters", uses them to determine which blocks it needs and fetches them from random nodes on the network. This has on-disk footprint of 300-400 MB and sync time of minutes, compared to ~3.4 GB and sync time of hours for full sync (these are rough estimates).
jy-p: the server side of SPV (in dcrd) was deployed in v1.2.0, the client side of SPV (in dcrwallet) is in our next release, v1.3.0. Still some minor bugs in SPV that are being worked out. There will be an update to add the latest features from BIP 157/158 in the next few months. SPV will be optional in v1.3.0, but it will become the default after we get a proper header commitment for it (#general)
Decrediton: besides regular bugfixes and design improvements, several components are being developed in parallel like SPV mode, Politeia integration and Trezor support.
Politeia: testing started on mainnet, thanks to everyone who is participating. A lot of testing, bugfixing and polishing is happening in preparation for full mainnet launch. There are also a few missing features to be added before launch, e.g. capacity to edit a proposal and versioning for that, discussion to remain open once voting starts. Decrediton integration is moving forward, check out this video for a demo and this meta issue for the full checklist.
Trezor: Decrediton integration of initial Trezor support is in progress and there is a demo.
Android: app design version 2.0 completed.
dcrdata: development of several chart visualizations was completed and is awaiting deployment. Specifically, voting agendas and historic charts are merged while ticket pool visualization is in testing.
atomicswap: @glendc is seeking reviews of his Ethereum support pull request.
Dev activity stats for July: 252 active PRs, 220 master commits, 34,754 added and 12,847 deleted lines spread across 6 repositories. Contributions came from 6-10 developers per repository. (chart)

Network

Hashrate: the month started at 40.5 and ended at 51.6 PH/s, with a low of 33.3 and a new all time high of 68.4 PH/s. F2Pool is leading with 40-45%, followed by the new BeePool at 15-25% and coinmine.pl at 18-23%.
Staking: 30-day average ticket price is 92.6 DCR (-2.1). The price started the month at 94.6 and quickly retreated to month's low of 85 until 1,860 tickets were bought within a single period (versus target 720). This pushed the pool of tickets to 41,970 (2.5% above target), which in turn caused 10 price increases in a row to the month's high of 100.4. This was the highest ticket price seen on the new ticket price algorithm which has been in effect since Jul 2017. Second half of the month there was unusually low volatility between 92 and 94 DCR per ticket. Locked DCR held between 3.75 and 3.87 million or 46.6-48.0% of supply (+0.1% from previous peak).
Nodes: there are 212 public listening and 216 normal nodes per dcred.eu. Version distribution: 67% on v1.2.0 (+10%), 24% on v1.1.2 (-1%), 7% on v1.1.0 (-7%). Node count data is not perfect but we can see the steady trend of upgrading to v1.2.0. This version of dcrd is notable for serving compact filters. The increased count of such full nodes allows the developers to test SPV client mode in preparations for the upcoming v1.3.0 release.

ASICs

Obelisk posted three updates in July. For the most recent daily updates join their Discord.
New miner from iBeLink: DSM7T hashes Blake256 at 7 TH/s or Blake2b at 3.5 TH/s, consumes 2,100 W and costs $3,800, shipping Aug 5-10.
There were also speculations about the mysterious Pangolin Whatsminer DCR with the speed of 44 TH/s at 2,200 W and the cost of $3,888, shipping November. If you know more about it please share with us in #pow-mining channel.

Integrations

Meet new stake pool: dcrpool.ibitlin.com has 1% fees and is hosted by @life.
An interesting detail about decredbrasil.com stake pool was posted in chat:
emiliomann: stakebrasil is one of the pools with the lowest number of missed and expired tickets. It was one of the first and has a smaller percentage than the most recent ones who haven’t had the time to do so. (...) The Brazilian pool should be the one with the more servers spread around the world: 6 to decrease the latency. This is to explain to you why the [pool fee] rate of 5% (currently around 0.06 DCR) on the reward is also one of the highest. girino: 8 voting wallets now. I just finished setting up a new one yesterday. All of them in different datacenters, 3 in europe, 3 in north america, 1 in brazil and one in asia. We also have 3 more servers, 1 for the front end, one for "stats" and one for dcrdata. (#general)
On the mining side, Luxor started a new set of pool servers inside mainland China, while zpool has enabled Decred mining.
StatX announced Decred integration into their live dashboard and public chat.
Decred was added to Satowallet with BTC and ETH trading pairs. Caution: do your best to understand the security model before using any wallet software.

Adoption

VotoLegal update:
Marina Silva is the first presidential candidate in Brazil using blockchain to keep all their electoral donations transparent and traceable. VotoLegal uses Decred technology, awesome use case! (reddit)
The story was covered by criptonoticias.com (translated) and livecoins.com.br (translated), the latter received hundreds of upvotes and comments on brasil.
On the OTC trading front, @i2Rav from i2trading reports:
We continue to see institutional interest in DCR. Large block buyers love the concept of staking as a way to earn additional income and appreciate the stakeholder rights it affords them. Likening a DCR investment to an activist shareholdebondholder gives these institutions some comfort while dipping their toes into a burgeoning new asset class.

Marketing

Targeted advertising reports released for June and July. As usual, reach @timhebel for full versions.
Big news in June: Facebook reversed their policy on banning crypto ads. ICO ads are still banned, but we should be OK. My team filled out the appeal today, so we should hopefully hear something within a few days. (u/timhebel on reddit)
After couple weeks Facebook finally responded to the appeal and the next step is to verify the domain name via DNS.
A pack of Stakey Telegram stickers is now available. Have fun!

Markets

In July DCR was trading in USD 56-76 and BTC 0.0072-0.0109 range. A recovery started after a volume boost of up to $10.5 m on Fex around Jul 13, but once Bitcoin headed towards USD ~8,000 DCR declined along with most altcoins.
WalletInvestor posted a prediction on dcrtrader.
Decred was noticed in top 10 mineable coins on coinmarketcap.com.

Bancor wallet was hacked. This reminds us about the fake feeling of decentralizaion, that custody of funds is dangerous and that smart contracts must have minimum complexity and be verifiable.
Circle announced official Poloniex mobile apps for iOS and Android.
On Jul 27 Circle announced delisting of 9 coins from Poloniex that led to a loss of 23-81% of their value same day. Sad reminder about how much a project can depend on a single centralized exchange.
DCR supply and market cap is now correct on onchainfx.com and finally, on coinmarketcap.com. Thanks to @sumiflow, @jz and others doing the tedious work to reach out the various websites.
